It's been a while since I've posted. Thankfully, it was because I've been very busy in 2014. Here's a quick recap of what I've been up to.
Since the beginning of the year, I've been busy orchestrating the score for the newest Batman videogame: Batman Arkham Knight. In March, I travelled to London to record orchestra and choir at AIR Studios. We recorded almost 3 hours of music for the game by composers Nick Arundel and David Buckley. It will be released for PS4 and Xbox One later this year by Warner Bros Interactive.
Here's me and conductor/orchestrator Tim Davies sitting on the remains of the music after the last session.
During this time, I also had the opportunity to orchestrate the film, "Moms' Night Out," for composers Marc and Steffan Fantini. "Moms" should be out in theaters any day now. I also had the pleasure to orchestrate "A Walk Among the Tombstones" for composer Carlos Rafael Rivera. It will be released later this year.
Since returning from London, I have been assisting Tim Davies on his arrangement for an orchestral suite of the music from the film, "The Motorcycle Diaries." This has consisted of additional orchestration and mocking up the 25 minute suite in demo form. This will be performed at the Hollywood Bowl on July 31st, performed by it's composer, Gustavo Santaolalla, and the LA Philharmonic. I will also be orchestrating the film "The Book of Life" for Gustavo later this summer.
In addition to these projects, I have also done bits and pieces of work on: Muppets Most Wanted, Endless Love, and Revolution.
Lastly, the Budman/Levy Orchestra is returning for a Mother's Day jazz brunch at the historic Lighthouse Cafe on the Hermosa Beach Pier. If you're in the area please stop by!
2014 is off to a great start. Looking forward to whatever the year may bring!
